We recently hired Unique Builder's & Development to take on a major exterior repair of our home, and the experience was excellent. Our project was a sizable one. The work totaled more than $45,000 and involved extensive carpentry, the removal and replacement of all exterior wood trim with hardy material, repairs to worn siding and doors, and a full exterior paint job with careful caulking and sealing. They also painted our garage and cabinetry. The job took about four to five weeks, and the... crew stayed on schedule.Brandon Moeckel was our main Project Manager, and he made the whole process easier. He was fair, clear, and willing to help in every step. Several repairs came up that were not fully defined in the contract, and he still agreed to take care of them without hesitation. This spring we hired Unique Builders and Remodeling to renew our floors, kitchen and secondary bathroom. We also had the entire interior repainted along with new solid wood doors, casings and baseboards plus we had the ceiling fans replaced in each room. The finished job resulted in a lovely and completely refreshed 63-year-old interior.We love all the beautiful design options and products Annette recommended for us after we initially described what we hoped to accomplish. The process of... selecting and procuring flooring, cabinetry, appliances, plumbing fixtures, lighting, countertops, tiling options, hardware, etc. can be extremely overwhelming however Annette worked very hard to plan our project to full completion before we ever agreed to the deal.The project started on time without many delays in progress and was handled in a professional manner where the customer comes first. The crews for the various stages of the project always arrived when expected and worked full time on the job until the work was completed. Everyone involved was polite and made sure we stayed updated on the work done and scheduling status. What a fabulous experience we had when two of our three bathrooms were renovated!Living in Houston means dealing with a foundation that’s always moving. In our 3-story townhome our tile and grout was cracked, even the pan in the shower. Martir Aroche assessed the problem with precision and knew exactly what needed to be done. Our previous tile was discontinued, but Martir found a replacement that looks even better than what we... had. Unique Builders created a gorgeous new primary bath and we just can't say enough about our positive experience. Ronen came to our house, spent A LOT of time with us, asking about wants and thoughts on design. Then we went to the showroom, a one stop shop for flooring, cabinets, etc. Ronen was prepared with a design and budget. The design was nothing like what we talked about! But Ronen has a great eye, and we couldn't be more pleased going with his design. The presentation was professional,... including blueprints. We were able to pick materials right there with both Ronan and Ana's help. We then received computer generated images, bringing everything to life.Demolition day - quick, efficient and clean. Amazed at how they were able to minimize the dust using plastic sheets and ventilation tube's.Our construction team, lead by Alex, was beyond talented. Alex was communicative, professional and went out of his was to make sure our needs were met. Alex supervised Jose, an amazing craftsman and jack of all trades. You won't find a harder worker! Juan did our tile. We can't begin to tell you how beautiful it turn out. Daniel the carpenter, created an upscale look that went beyond our expectations. Eric, the plumber, painstakingly worked with the plumbing that comes with an older home.Alex and his team were amazing. Not only in their workmanship but their attitude, singing, doing their job, couldn't help but smile.We also had a supervisor, Hunter. Who came at least once a week, just to have another set of eyes on the project. Done with our secondary bathroom and so excited with how it came out. Eric was easy to deal with and was on top of anything that came up. We wanted to change the wall color after they started painting and Eric came in and made the switch on the spot and went to pick up the paint we wanted. Since no one was home they where able to work on there own schedule and got the bathroom completed it a lot quicker then expected.

We recently completed our kitchen renovation with Unique Builders.Our project manager and designer, Ronen, did an excellent job taking our input and providing us with several options of varying complexity/price. We visited their showroom and found materials to our liking amongst a large selection. The full three-dimensional computer rendering of the design options (the renderings included the materials we had selected and appliances we had indicated we were going to use) was particularly... useful in making our decision.Choosing the most complex, we were estimated 6–8-week completion time. Alex and his crews completed the work in just over 6 weeks. The scheduling was packed and there were only Sundays when there was not someone at the house working. Ronen communicated constantly by phone/text/email and was always prompt with answers and options to any questions we had throughout the project.The entire kitchen and pantry were torn down to the frames, walls/post removed, beams installed, water, drains and gas lines were moved. The crews were extremely skilled at their tasks and worked quite fast while maintaining quality and safety. Moreover, in watching the crews work, I could visibly see that they enjoyed their work and took pride in doing things correctly and completely.The kitchen was fully walled off with plastic with a zipper door. The site was swept and cleaned every night. They were particularly diligent in moving our washer/dryer in/out of the house constantly, so we could maintain the use of our laundry as much as possible (and always on the weekends). Utility disruption was kept to a minimum. (A partial day without power, and water/gas outages lasting no more than 3 hours at any given instance)As a very curious person, I very much appreciate their patience in my watching them work and answering quite a lot questions about how and why things were done.All costs were defined in advance and adhered to (aside from two changes at our request and material/finishes). Payments were made as that particular piece of work was completed.We originally decided to contract with Unique Builders based on the initial designs, professionalism, and aggressive schedule they could promise. Unique Builders more than lived up to all expectations and promises of the initial meetings and contract.I would not hesitate (and have not) to recommend Unique Builders, Ronen, and Alex to anyone for their next home build or renovation.read more

We have completed 2 projects with Unique Builders. The ease of the working relationship on our first project naturally lead to engaging Unique for a second project. Bathroom Build-back and Remodel of Primary Bathroom and closet redesignThe first project was completed with Marc and Scott. They were absolutely amazing at easing my stress and anxiety as we... embarked on our first rebuild as homeowners. They explained everything that they were doing to eliminate the issues we were experiencing. The crews performing the work were very respectful and professional. When we had to call Unique back out for warranty work on this project and there were zero issues. Darryl responded within 24 hours of notice and Unique was out to complete the repairs within 2 weeks. Darryl was an absolute joy to work with and embodies customer service.Project number 2 for the bathroom build-back and remodel was completed with Ronen and material selection with Ana at the design center. At the time that we started working with Ronen the bathroom was partially demolished due to a water leak. Since the portions of the walls, shower, and vanity were affected by the water leak we planned to do a little bit of a bathroom update. In meeting with Ronen, we discussed how to use the space more effectively to make the space feel like a true Primary bathroom. The initial design we discussed in our meeting did not work out with the bathroom dimensions so Ronen took a shot at presenting a new design with our specific needs in mind. Ronen took our ideas and transformed them into a work of art. The design he shared with us exceeded our expectations.To be expected with any remodel there were tweaks to the design plan as different phases of the project fell into place. Ronen was able to provide his expertise and pivot on the design plan to ensure the integrity of the bathroom design was maintained. His eye for design is unmatched. Throughout the remodel we were beyond impressed at how every aspect of the bathroom pulled together. I recently worked with Andrew Koy on a redesign and build of our kitchen and it was a great experience. Andrew is incredible professional. From the first visit, he served as an advisor and helped me better understand what we needed to expand and make our small kitchen space more useful. He is super responsive and as soon as we were ready to start the job he was ready to get started. He managed the crew impeccably. The team was always on time and working every day from 8 - 5 (even arriving 15min... early on most days). The crew is trustworthy and respectful and were always eager to hear my thoughts around the progress. They cleaned up the space and the working station every day which made it a lot easier to live in a "construction zone". Andrew and the team are meticulous and care about every detail of the work. They worked really fast and we were able to have a functioning kitchen within a week and a fully remodeled kitchen in 2 weeks. This is our second remodel project with Unique. I can't recommend these guys enough. Their design team created a beautiful plan and their construction team (Alex) and GC (Scott) were amazing in executing the plan. What I love most is not everything went as planned but any issues and concerns were addressed and corrected. The carpet in our son's room was stained. The plastic tore and construction dust and feet stained it. Scott had it cleaned and it didn't come up so they had it replaced. No... arguments from them.They are not the cheapest, but they justify their price with their work.My wife and I are extremely happy with Unique and will use them again if we have any other home remodeling needs.read more

Last year they did our garage renovation and we were very pleased so we decided to go with them again. Once again we were not disappointed. We used Unique Builders to remodel our bathroom in October 2021 and were so pleased with the results that we rehired them for a outdoor patio project that was completed March 2022. This project was to take space from our 3 car garage and create a covered patio area in the backyard that never existed before. This included framing, rewiring, moving pipes, removing a brick wall, and installing a beam for structural integrity.Ronen, the project manager, listened to our needs and offered great... design ideas! Some design suggestions were a little out of our comfort zone, but Ronen is good about explaining the vision as well as finding alternative material/color options that reflected our style while staying true to the overall "rustic chic" design project aesthetic. We felt very supported the entire time. Ronen was always quick to answer all queries immediately and frequently visited the site to ensure the project was progressing on time and following the design plan.We specifically requested the same crew (Javier Lara and Team) for this project. Javier Lara and his team are super friendly, professional and reliable. The crew showed up every day at the exact same time to work and would leave around 5:00-6:00pm. They are efficient and also offered helpful alternative project suggestions we ended up incorporating to change the original design plan into an even better one! And the estimated 6-8 week remodel was completed AHEAD OF SCHEDULE in just 3.5 weeks!!! And it would have been completed sooner except we had to wait for a few parts delayed in shipping and delivery due to global supply chain issues. We had busted pipes from the February freeze, a large amount of damage needed to be repaired/replaced. The entire team at Unique did a fantastic job with both bathrooms, master bedroom, custom closets and flooring. The crew also made sure we were happy with the work and went above and beyond. To make a very long story short, this company provided home repairs following the 2021 February freeze. We had the floors and a couple of walls and ceilings replaced due to water damage. The contractor refused to start the work until the entirety of the scope of work was approved through insurance causing us to live out of our home under construction with a new born who was born days before the contractor finally started work in late April. The estimate they provided was not at all the work... they performed. Our contractor said the line items not performed were added in lieu of an additional estimate for work we asked to get done outside of our insurance claim and as an upgrade to what insurance was covering (carpet to wood floors). I believe this is called insurance fraud. I asked for the estimate to be corrected to show what was actually performed with an additional estimate for what we asked to be done in addition, but never received this. They originally said they would perform mold testing to determine if additional walls needed replacement, but this never occurred to our knowledge. Even the mold we visually found was not removed properly nor according to how the estimate said it was handled. The contractor only walked our home twice and we were left to supervise the work of the sub contractors and coordinate issues. We even pointed out items left unfinished or performed poorly, but nothing was done to resolve this. While we continued to fight with insurance for payment of all the work they unnecessarily added on, Unique threatened to send us to collections. If we weren’t in the process of buying and selling our home, I would have risked collections and sent them to court. Utterly disappointed in the level of unprofessionalism from this company.read more

I really wanted to use this company to do our remodel but after visiting my house the contractor, Matt, wouldn't reply to my wife. really frustrating because he did text back twice but took a week to reply and then said he sent a quote to my email (he didn't) and when I asked him to check the email address he again ghosted us.I would say he seemed knowledgeable and professional but im actually super upset with the lack of communication. We contracted Unique Builders to renovate our kitchen in July 2020. Ronen K was our project manager. The job required a complete rebuild of the kitchen, removing posts, walls and installing new posts and beam. Ronen spent a considerable amount of time working with my wife and I on the design of the kitchen, providing us various options to maximize the space, the kind of materials we could use and recommendations on the appliances. The project lasted about nine weeks which was attributable to us... changing the scope of the work to include other areas of the house which Unique had no problem including into the project. They ensured every detail was covered. When an issue came up, Ronen was there to resolve it quickly. The result was a beautiful better functioning kitchen with an open concept. UNPROFESSIONAL! Awful service! Their employee, Ronan, was crazy and tried to force us to sign a contract on their first visit and won’t leave respectfully! He us feel very uncomfortable. When we told him we were going to hire him he threw a fit like a 5 year old. He said that whoever we hire will mess it up and we’ll have to call him to fix it. That is definitely not the case. Extremely happy we did not hire them. STAY AWAY!

Since my mom was turning 76, I needed to make my mom’s bathroom (the master bathroom) handicap-friendly and wanted to update the design a bit at the same time. From the initial estimate and design with Jeremy to the final execution, they were absolutely professional and easy to work with. We had to widen a bathroom door and move and expand the shower, along with moving some storage capacity. Well, before the process even began, my mom ended up having a stroke. I chose to use Unique instead of... the other contractors I had spoken to because of their reputation. Their bid was a little bit higher, but I knew that it was worth it to me to choose a firm that would do a quality, no-hassle job. Each day they let us know what was to be done that day and checked at the end of the day to make sure we were satisfied with the work.
